Emerald Ash Borer Workshop
Tuesday, May 14, 6:30 to 7:30 pm @ Benzonia Township Hall
Meet Steve Fouch, from L&S Tree Services. He will explain the history of EAB, update us on EAB damage in our area, show us what control measures to initiate and how effective they are in protecting ash trees. This workshop gives homeowners information, tips, and provides insight on the future of the Emerald Ash Borer. We will meet at the top of the hill in Benzonia, the township hall is at the corner of Traverse Ave. and US 31 (Michigan Ave.), in the front of the fire station building. The workshop is free of charge; donations accepted.

Workshop – “Managing Your Shoreline: Natural Landscaping for Lake Health”
Friday, July 19, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. First Congregational Church of Benzonia
This is an opportunity to learn about natural shoreline landscaping and bio-engineered erosion control techniques and how these techniques can reduce runoff, deter geese, minimize erosion, and improve fish and wildlife habitat, while maintaining aesthetically pleasing access to your lake. Already have a rock or sea wall?  Learn how to enhance those structures for the benefit of your lake.  $5 registration fee.

Shoreline Project Tour
Friday, July 26, 3 pm Meet at Almira Township Public Beach, Lake Ann
Learn about natural shoreline landscaping and bio-engineered erosion control techniques through site visits. We will be touring shoreline projects at Lake Ann, Upper Herring Lake, and Watervale.  $5 registration fee.
