Annual Meeting Notice and Open Position for Director
To all residents of the Benzie Conservation District, notice is hereby given that on the 17th day of November, 2011, between the hours of 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., at the Crystal Mountain Resort and Spa, in the city of Thompsonville, an annual meeting and director’s election will be held. On the 23rd day of September, 2011, being forty-five (45) days prior to the date of the annual meeting, absentee ballots are available for voting in this election by writing to or calling the Conservation District Office located at 280 S. Benzie Blvd. P.O. Box 408, Beulah, MI 49617, 231.882.4391 during the regular business hours of the District, which are between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Notice is also hereby given to all residents who are desiring to run for the one available position of Conservation District Director in this election: petitions signed by at least five (5) residents of the Conservation District must be filed at the Conservation District Office before close of business on Friday, September 23, 2011, being sixty (60) days prior to the annual meeting, plus a one week grace period.
Residents are individuals of legal age who can demonstrate residency in the Conservation District (Benzie County) via one piece of identification.

Benzie Conservation District Meeting Schedule
The Benzie CD Board of Directors holds their monthly meetings on the third Thursday at 4 p.m., except where noted, at the District office at 280 S. Benzie Blvd in downtown Beulah. Meetings are open to the public.

Benzie Watershed Coalition Meeting: The 2nd meeting of the collective Benzie watersheds and partners is meeting Wednesday, July 27 at 3 p.m. at the Benzonia Township Hall.
Emerald Ash Borer Program: The annual meeting of the Crystal Lake and Watershed Association will be held at 9:30 A.M., Saturday July 16th at the CSA Meeting Hall located at 2128 Pilgrim Highway (M-22). Emerald Ash Borer expert, Dr. David L. Roberts, will speak at the meeting. In 2001 he pioneered research that led to the discovery of emerald ash borer in southeast Michigan. His presentation will discuss all things emerald ash borer, including prevention, treatment, and future steps.
